Raised in Dallas, Texas, Hayden Rhodes has been fascinated by filmmaking since he watched The Polar Express in theaters at the age of 3. Technically inclined, he pursued engineering and mathematics in high school and college, working summers as an actuarial intern. During the pandemic, he became disillusioned with his career path and pivoted into film production with a strong emphasis on camera and lighting.

Hayden Rhodes graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science of Radio-Television-Film in 2023. During his two years at the University of Texas, he gained extensive knowledge of camera systems, lighting, and composition through his experience on both student and professional sets including 10+ director of photography credits.

His work has been lauded by both critics and audiences locally and internationally. His debut short film HIT garnered the Best Drama award at the Munich New Wave Short Film Festival and Best Cinematography at the Texas Union Film Festival.

Through his cinematography, Hayden strives to help directors realize their vision and achieve a higher level of visual storytelling than they thought possible by creating images that look great and honor each film's unique tone and story.

When he’s not on set, Hayden enjoys film photography, learning about geography on YouTube, and trying new restaurants around Austin.

Hayden Rhodes is a cinematographer based in Austin, TX.
